Business Networking Tips To Improve Your Referrals
Be prepared.
Before you attend a networking event, take some time to think about what you want to achieve. What do you want to learn about? Who do you want to meet? Having a plan will help you to make the most of your time.
Be yourself.
People can spot a fake from a mile away, so just be yourself and let your personality shine through. This will make you more relatable and approachable.
Be a good listener.
People appreciate it when you take the time to listen to them and to learn about their interests. Ask follow-up questions to show that you are engaged in the conversation.
Be positive and enthusiastic.
People are drawn to positive and enthusiastic people. Show the other person that you are excited about the meeting and that you are looking forward to getting to know them better.
Follow up after the meeting.
Send the other person a thank-you note or email after the meeting. This is a nice way to stay in touch and to let them know that you enjoyed meeting them.
Be consistent.
The best way to build relationships is to be consistent. Attend networking events regularly and follow up with the people you meet.
Focus on building relationships.
The goal of networking is to build relationships with people who can help you to achieve your business goals. Don’t just focus on collecting business cards. Take the time to get to know the people you meet and to find common ground.
Offer to help others.
One of the best ways to build relationships is to offer to help others. Be willing to share your knowledge and expertise, and to connect people with the resources they need.
Get involved in your community.
Join a professional association or volunteer for a cause that you care about. This is a great way to meet new people and build relationships with potential clients and collaborators.
Attend industry events.
This is a great way to learn about the latest trends in your industry and to meet new people.
Use social media to network.
Connect with people on FaceBook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and other social media platforms. Share interesting content and engage with others in conversations.
Testimonial
“BNC is an awesome group of business professionals that I have grown to appreciate. The group has no exclusivity which allows a mix of the same professions.
Although the group is young it is growing steadily.”
